Update #14

The doctors are going to hold off on dialysis. Nick's kidneys are starting to come around, so they want to give it some time.

Their main efforts are in preventing infection, which someone who has been in a coma this long is very prone to. Nick had a bit of a fever yesterday, but they got that in check.

So we can focus our prayers on his kidneys and infections - and, of course, the process of coming out of the coma, which continues...and the family.

Although I attend CCC, I do not know you personally but, having children and grandchildren of my own, I understand totally how you feel. When my daughter became diabetic as a child, I was devastated. Sometimes the only thing you can do is to hang on to God and try to find comfort with all these things that we, as mortals, cannot comprehend. Just know that the entire Community Covenant Church family...and many more, I know, have you in their prayers.

May God bless you and bring you some blessed relief. Know that it is in His hands.

"We want Nick, we want Nick" Prior to your birth, DJ, Amanda, and Grandma Ginny would say this several times a day. We were so excited when you finally arrived!!! Now I find myself saying this again and anxiously await your return to us when you awake from your coma.
Love,
Grandma Ginny

Hey Brinkerhoffs, God is good ....all the time. We've been praying for you all as you walk through this miracle that God is doing in your life. He is building a testimony in your family of healing and restoration that will give hope to the many people you touch in life.

Keep up the good fight...your brothers and sisters in Christ 'got your back' as we fight for you on our knees.

The Bermoys in Lake Forest,
Alex, Marlene,
Brandon and Micah
