Update #18

Not a lot of signs that Nick is coming out of the coma yet. But plenty of good things going on...

- His ventilator only kicks in when needed now. So he's starting to mostly breathe on this own.

- His body is now absorbing the fluid around his brain. The drain hasn't been needed for a day or so. They're planning to take it out soon.

His brain is having a hard time keeping his body temperature regulated correctly. So they're monitoring that closely.

Since the drugs that kept him in a coma are totally out of his system now, it's his body that keeping him in the coma. That's exactly how God created our bodies, to allow us to heal. So, the fact that he's not coming out of the coma is not a bad thing.

Nick,
Keep singing Amen, I am Alive! You are bright and strong. Archangel Raphael appears as a purple light.
Remember that song Head Shoulder Knees and Toes. You're funny.

Dear Nick and family,
I wanted to let you know, there are many of God's faithful, here in Texas, that are committed to keeping you lifted up in prayer. We have not forgotten! I believe God is strengthening and sustaining your faith in Him each day, no matter what you see with your eyes, or what you hear with your ears. Your FAITH in GOD'S WORD, can move mountains! Literally!(Mark 11:23) God's Word says His plan for Nick's future is filled with hope, and not disaster.(Jeremiah 29:11). God has already proclaimed Nick,s healing! Not partially, but completely!(Psalm 107:20). And by the wounds of His Son, Jesus, this promise for Nick was sealed.(1 Peter 2:24). These last few verses, taken from Psalm 103:1-5, I have personalized for Nick, and they are straight from the Lord to comfort and encourage you.

"Let all that I am praise the Lord: with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for Nicholas. He forgives all his sins and heals all his diseases. He redeems him from death and crowns him with love and tender mercies. He fills his life with good things. His youth is renewed like the eagle's!"
Believing with you,

We will definitely continue to pray for God to continue this miracle. Don't lose hope, because God is so faithful, even when we are completely faithless. Again, we love the Brinkerhoffs and we pray continually.
